PAUL BISSETT - Head Writer
Paul is an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker. His TV Pilot “Above the Angelic” won a Page International Screenwriting Award. His feature film screenplay “In Search of an Ending” was a finalist in the 2016 Nicholl Fellowship and will be produced and directed by Peter Howitt (Sliding Doors, Johnny English). Recent projects include the Papua New Guinean TV series ‘It Takes a Village’ (Screencraft), broadcast on SBS and NITV in 2023. Upcoming projects include family feature ‘Hoop’ and horror feature ‘The Darkness”.
One of Paul’s earliest efforts in writing, at age four, read “Once upon a time. It is Thursday. A spaceship came down. The end.”
This was just the beginning of his love for stories about warped realities.
Paul has been commissioned to write plays (“7 Great Inventions of the Industrial Age” for Sally Greenaway in 2016 and “Da Vinci’s Apprentice” for Musica Viva in 2018) as well as a children’s podcast, animated TV series for 6—9 year olds and a teen comedy feature film. He co-wrote and co-produced the comedy podcast Sparrow-Folk: Adventures in SuBIRDia.
Paul is an in-demand commercial writer; his TVCs, videos and radio ads have helped hundreds of businesses and organisations nationally and internationally.
